Quang Nam
Dear Mom,
Well, today the mail was choppered in and I got your letter.
Right now, we are in a village called Quang Nam. It's a Catholic village. Most of the Catholics were executed in the north, so they migrated south to here. It's kind of fun. Today I helped cut bush with the Vietnamese people. We all had a pretty good time. Soon we will leave and move on to Ting Son, a village west of here. The Kilo nomads stay on the move.
Evidently you've heard that the 26th Marines are pulling out. They tell us that only the people with 10 months in country will go home. Could Pop find out if this is true or are they holding back so that we don't slack up anticipating going home.
If I get to Tokyo, I nearly planned to drop in to see the Adams. You better believe that I’m going to raise 7 days of sheer hell in Tokyo and to stay with them would only make things awkward.
I got your first package and am looking forward to the next. You always think of everything Mom!
I'm all healed up from that truck wreck. May have a scar on my cheek. No big thing.
I’ll right again soon!
Love to all,
Sonny Boy
PS
Please find out who goes home. If they pull the regiment out, will they pull everyone in the regiment out? February I will have six months in country.
We would appreciate to know! Thanks.
